I have a friend who has a 12 car garage, and he’s not even a car guy. He bought it as an investment property, but doesn’t have time to manage it. I’m sure it would be hard to find tenants for such a large space, but how much would it rent for? And how do you advertise for something like that?
If you are considering renting out your garage space:
1) Get the word out by posting on local community message boards, Craigslist and Facebook groups specific to your area. You may also want to contact local real estate agents to see if they know of any potential tenants.
2) Determine if there is enough demand for parking spaces in your neighborhood and how much people are willing to pay for them. This will help determine how much you should charge for each space in your garage. If there are other garages available nearby, then you might want to charge less than what they’re charging since yours is newer or has more amenities (for example).
