In the 1960s, there were many reasons why teenagers joined gangs. Many of these reasons were due to the fact that they were living in poor neighborhoods and had limited resources. Some of them joined gangs because they felt that it was a way to protect themselves from the violence that was happening around them. Others joined because they felt like they had no other option but to join a gang in order to survive.
A lot of teens joined gangs because they were trying to find an identity for themselves. They saw that some kids were able to have fun and enjoy life without any problems, but there were many others who weren’t as fortunate. In order for these kids to fit in with their peers and feel accepted, they had to join a gang.
Some teens also joined a gang because they thought that it would be cool or fun for them at the time. If you ask any teenager today if he or she would like to be part of a gang, most of them will say no immediately because they know what can happen when you’re involved with such an organization.
