I’ve been wondering the same thing, but I think it has to do with the fact that Skyrim is a game that was released in 2011, so it’s still relatively new. The fact that it’s still selling well at all is impressive, let alone at such a high price.

I think Bethesda has to be making some serious money off of Skyrim sales, because they’re not going to be able to keep the game on the shelves for long. I can’t imagine anyone who owns an Xbox One or PS4 hasn’t played it by now, so it’ll just be people like me who are looking for an excuse to buy another copy or two when they get bored with their current one.

The only reason I can come up with for why it would still be so expensive is if supply hasn’t caught up with demand yet. If you look at Amazon’s Best Sellers list for PC games right now, you’ll see that most of them are pretty cheap – $20 or less usually gets you a new title without any problem (unless there’s some kind of special promotion going on). That doesn’t seem like much compared to what you’d pay for something like Skyrim online though.
