There are a few reasons why only one side of your car’s air conditioning is working. The most common reason is that the hose has split down the middle. This can happen with age, but it’s also common when the vehicle has been in an accident and the AC lines are damaged.

The second most common reason is that there is a leak somewhere. If this is the case, you’ll need to locate where your leak is and fix it. A leak in your evaporator core could be causing a coolant leak or if you have an aftermarket AC system installed, it may be leaking refrigerant from one of its components.

If none of these issues apply to you and both sides of your car’s air conditioner are still not working properly, then there may be something else going on with your vehicle such as worn belts or pulleys that need replacing or a faulty ECU (engine control unit) for example.
