Dogs poop on concrete for the same reason they poop in the house. They are marking their territory.
Dogs are very territorial animals, and they will do anything to protect their property. This includes pooping on it! The smell of their feces is what tells other dogs that this is their home turf.
The good news is that there are some things you can do to prevent your dog from pooping in the house or on concrete.
First, make sure that your dog has plenty of exercise each day in order to keep them active and busy. This will help them relax at home and reduce the amount of time they spend snooping around your yard looking for a place to go potty.
Second, train your dog from a young age so that he knows where he should and shouldn’t go potty. Reward him when he does well, but if he has an accident outside, don’t punish him — just clean up after him immediately so that he doesn’t associate punishment with going potty outside.
