A docking station is a device that allows you to connect peripherals and external displays to your laptop. While they can be quite useful, they can also cause a lot of problems. One of the most common issues with docking stations is overheating.
Why do docking stations get hot?
The main reason why your docking station is getting hot is because it has too much stuff connected to it. Some devices draw more power than others, which can cause the dock to overheat. This can cause damage to your laptop, your docking station, or even both!
To prevent this from happening, you should only connect devices that are necessary for normal operation of the computer. For example, if you’re using your laptop for work purposes, don’t connect any external monitors or speakers until after work hours are over for the day.
