Cats are curious animals. They want to know what is going on around them and when they see something new or unusual, they will look at it with curiosity. This is one of the reasons that cats look up at the ceiling. Cats are always looking at things and trying to figure out what they are.

A cat may stare at you while you talk to him or her because he or she wants to know what you are saying and what your tone of voice means. If you have a cat who stares at you for long periods of time, he or she may be trying to figure out what is going on in your mind. This could be true even if your cat has been around you for years and knows all about you.

Cats have very good hearing and can hear sounds that humans cannot detect. If there is a strange noise coming from somewhere in the house, your cat’s ears will prick up and turn towards the sound source so that he can listen more closely. When this happens, his head will turn slightly so that he can better hear what is going on around him (or her).
