Why Do Cats Like Being Slapped On The Bum ?

Cats, like dogs, are very social animals and they love to be part of the family. They also like to play, but unlike dogs, cats have a very short attention span for games. They’re much more likely to play with a toy for a few minutes and then walk away from it. This is why most cats are not good candidates for training and why many owners find it difficult to teach their cats tricks.

Cats also like being stroked or scratched behind their ears and on their cheeks because it feels very nice to them. If you want your cat to do something for you in return for this pleasure, however, you’ll need to teach him how by using positive reinforcement (giving him something he likes in exchange for doing what he wants).

One way to encourage your cat to do what you want is through clicker training. The clicker is a small device that makes a clicking noise when pressed down on — think of those old-fashioned sewing machines with the little metal bobbin that clicked into place when you turned the crank handle. You can buy clickers at pet stores or order them online at sites like Amazon or eBay.

The idea behind clicker training is that by rewarding your cat every time he does something right.
