Why Are Pop Tarts Wrapped In Foil?

The foil on the Pop Tarts is there to prevent the crust from getting too brown. The foil also keeps the crust crisp, which is why it’s recommended that you remove it before eating.

The Pop Tarts have been around since 1964 and have become a staple in many households. They were originally introduced by General Mills as “Toaster Tarts,” but were later renamed “Pop Tarts” when they began selling them in supermarkets.

These days, there are numerous flavors available such as Strawberry, Grape, Chocolate Chip, Blueberry and Cinnamon Brown Sugar. There are also some limited edition flavors like Pumpkin Pie and Caramel Apple that are only offered during certain times of the year including Halloween and Christmas.
