Mid laners are some of the most complex and difficult champions to play in League of Legends. They have to balance their own health, mana and cooldowns with those of their enemy laner, but they also need to be aware of the entire map.
Mids are also incredibly susceptible to being killed by ganks. When you’re playing a champion like LeBlanc or Zed, your mobility allows you to escape from sticky situations, but if an enemy jungler makes his way into mid lane, it’s pretty much over for any mid laner.
Additionally, many mids are assassins who rely on their burst damage to win fights — and that’s not always effective against tanky top laners or ADCs who can sustain through the damage output (as well as having more health).
All this makes for an extremely stressful position that often leads to toxicity among players who aren’t able to keep up with their opponents in-game.
