Sonic the Hedgehog is a fictional video game character, created by Sega. The first Sonic game was released on June 23, 1991 for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive console. As of April 2016, the Sonic franchise had sold over 80 million physical copies and grossed $1 billion from licensed merchandise.
Sonic has appeared in numerous games across various genres, such as platform games and other genres, including sports titles. He also has two animated series: Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic SatAM.
Sonic’s goal is to defeat Dr. Eggman (Robotnik) who wants to turn all living creatures into robots. To achieve this goal, he must collect rings and stop Dr. Eggman’s plans.
