The United States is one of the most technologically advanced countries in the world. It also has a large number of trains and railways, but not all are as advanced as others.
The country with the best train technology is Japan. The Shinkansen bullet train network is considered to be one of the best rail systems in the world. It has been operating since 1964 and has served more than 10 billion passengers over its history.
The second-best train system is Germany’s Deutsche Bahn, which operates a wide range of regional, intercity and high-speed services across the country. The company started operating in 1995 and now carries around 300 million passengers per year.
France’s SNCF was created in 1937 and now operates more than 11,000km (6,800 miles) of track across France with more than 1,500 stations on its network. In addition to regional trains, it also operates high-speed TGV services between Paris and other cities such as Lyon, Marseille, Toulouse and Strasbourg.
