Zoro is one of the crew members of the Straw Hat Pirates. He is a pirate who was introduced during the Straw Hat’s journey to Skypiea. His dream is to become the world’s greatest swordsman and he practices Kenpo karate, which was taught to him by his sensei Kuina. Zoro has one of the biggest goals in One Piece: to defeat Dracule Mihawk and be recognized as the best swordsman in the world.

Zoro’s dream started when he met Kuina and learned Kenpo karate from her. She was able to defeat him easily but after seeing how much he wanted to win against her, she decided to train him so that he would have a chance against her. After years of training under Kuina’s guidance, Zoro finally mastered all of her techniques and became stronger than ever before. However, just before they could have their final match, Kuina was murdered by Captain Morgan who was jealous that she had defeated so many pirates while serving as a marine officer on board his ship.

After hearing about this terrible news, Luffy decided to go on a voyage with Zoro onboard his ship Going Merry where they met Nami and Sanji who were also looking for adventure in their lives just like them.
