Lawnmowers aren’t just for the summer months. In fact, the best time to mow your lawn is during the spring and fall. You can mow your lawn as early in the season as you want, but if you wait too long, it will be more difficult to remove any dead grass and weeds that may have grown up in your yard during the winter.
The best time to start mowing is when temperatures rise above 60 degrees Fahrenheit (15 Celsius). If you live in a warmer climate and it’s already warm outside, then you can begin mowing at any time. Here are some tips on how to dress for mowing:
Footwear: You should wear sturdy shoes or boots when mowing because they protect your feet from injury and also help prevent blisters if you stand for long periods of time. Flip-flops and sandals are not recommended because they offer little protection against bumps and scrapes from rocks or sticks in your yard.
Clothing: Wear loose-fitting clothing so that it’s easy to move around while using the lawnmower. If it’s very hot outside, consider wearing shorts so that your legs don’t get burned by hot metal edges or blades like on riding.
