The jaguar (Panthera onca) is a big cat that lives in the jungles of Central and South America. It has a long body, short legs and a thick tail with a black tip. Its fur is usually yellow to light brown with dark spots.
Jaguars are strong predators that hunt wild pigs, deer, crocodiles and even humans. They use their strong teeth to hold onto their prey until they suffocate it or kill it with a bite to the neck. Jaguars also eat fruit, snakes and birds when they cannot find anything else to eat!
