What Is The Job Outlook For A Us Postal Worker ?

The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) is one of America’s oldest and largest employers, with over 618,000 permanent employees, as of 2014. In addition to the USPS workforce, there are more than 100,000 temporary employees who work for the agency.

The job outlook for USPS workers depends on several factors including whether Congress continues to fund the agency at current levels or implements further cuts, how much revenue it generates from selling products such as stamps and shipping services, and how many people decide to stop using mail services entirely in favor of other forms of communication such as email and text messaging.

Despite the potential challenges facing USPS workers in their careers, most postal jobs are considered secure because they are protected by federal law. However, if the budget situation worsens significantly or Congress decides to privatize certain parts of the postal service then some positions may be eliminated entirely.
