10/9c time is one of the most common time zones used in the United States. The zone spans from roughly the Atlantic Coast to the Pacific Coast and includes most of the Eastern half of the country.

Time zones were created so that people could use a single standard time when communicating across great distances. Before time zones were introduced, people would set their clocks based on local noon and midnight times, but this meant that noon was not necessarily at 12:00pm everywhere. It could be earlier or later depending on where you were located.

The first official time zones were established by railroads in 1849, which made it easier for trains to travel across long distances with standard times set by railroad companies.

Today there are over 30 different time zones used throughout North America and other parts of the world. Most countries have their own time zones based on their geographic size, population distribution, and even politics (some countries have more than one official time zone).
