What Does It Mean When Verizon Says calling Restrictions?

I have a customer that has a landline and internet with Verizon. They have been using their landline for years, but recently they have been receiving calls from people who are saying that the phone line is disconnected. This is causing them to lose business because the can’t be reached by customers.

I called Verizon customer service and asked what is going on? They said that some how my customer’s account was transferred from a different state and now they were restricted from calling out of state. They also told me that it would take about 3 days to fix this issue.

I told them that this was unacceptable, because my customer needs to be able to use their phone right away! I asked what could be done so that they could call out of state again right away? The representative told me there was nothing she could do except wait 3 days for the restriction to be removed from their account!

I told her that was not acceptable and asked if there was anyone else I could speak with? She said no, but then went ahead and transferred me anyway! So now I am on hold waiting for another representative while writing this blog post!
