What country has the highest demand for vegetables?

The United States is the world’s largest producer of vegetables, with China coming in second. Together, these two countries account for nearly half of the world’s vegetable production.

The United States alone produces more than 30 percent of all vegetables consumed around the world. The country also leads in the production of potatoes and tomatoes, which are two of its most popular crops. In fact, it produces more than 90 percent of the world’s potatoes and almost 60 percent of all tomatoes consumed internationally.

China has been increasing its vegetable production in recent years to keep up with rising demand from consumers. The country produces about 20 percent of all vegetables consumed worldwide, including cabbage, cucumbers, carrots and radishes.
