What City Is Wall E Set In?

Wall-E is a 2008 American computer-animated science fiction comedy film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and directed by Andrew Stanton. It stars the voices of Ben Burtt, Elissa Knight, Jeff Garlin, Fred Willard, John Ratzenberger, Kathy Najimy and Sigourney Weaver. It was produced by Jim Morris and co-directed by Angus MacLane.

Wall-E is set in a future where humanity has abandoned a polluted Earth and is now living in outer space aboard giant starliners, including the Axiom. The story follows Wall-E’s attempts to return to his original love interest, EVE (Extraterrestrial Vegetation Evaluator), who has been left behind on Earth.

The idea for WALL·E came from stories that producer Jim Morris told about his grandfather: “He had spent most of his life in the suburbs of New York City and then he moved to Florida.” Producer Ralph Guggenheim suggested that they could use garbage collectors as a way to tell the story of humans returning to Earth after being away for 500 years. Stanton thought it was a great idea because it would be free from dialogue and could also explain why Earth had become so overpopulated.
