What Are The Miller Indices For The Plane Shown In The Unit Cell?

For a plane in the unit cell, there are three Miller indices. The first one is the Miller index of the point on the plane that is closest to you. For example, if you were looking at a plane in an infinite graphite crystal, pointing to one of the carbon atoms would give you a direction for your first Miller index.

The second Miller index is the Miller index of the point on the plane that is farthest away from you. For example, if you were looking at a plane in an infinite graphite crystal, pointing away from one of the carbon atoms would give you a direction for your second Miller index.

The third and final Miller index is between these two points on the plane and perpendicular to both points.
