Toilet Sprays Water From Bowl When Flushed?

If you hear water spraying in the bowl when you flush the toilet, it is most likely that the flapper chain is not hanging properly. The chain should be tight enough to close off the hole so that no water comes out when flushing.

The flapper chain needs to be adjusted so that it is hanging freely and not too tight or too loose. It is best to have a plumber come out and adjust this for you, but if you feel comfortable doing it yourself, here are some instructions:

First turn off the water supply line to the toilet at the stop valve under the sink or by turning off the main water supply line in your house.

Next remove the lid from your toilet tank by unscrewing it or loosening its clips. Take out any old padding that may be inside of it as well as any debris (usually leaves).

Next look at your flapper chain and see if there is any rust or corrosion on it. If there is then you will need to remove all traces of rust with sandpaper or steel wool before continuing with adjusting your flapper chain.
