Is apple juice without pulp a mixture or pure substance?
Apple juice without pulp is a mixture.
I have a question about the word “mixture”. The book says that it’s made up of different substances, but when I look at the answer key, it says “A mixture is made up of two or more substances.” How can this be true if they’re both called mixtures?
There are many types of mixtures. A mixture can be made up of two or more substances, but it doesn’t have to be. For example, air consists of oxygen and nitrogen gases and water consists of hydrogen and oxygen atoms. Both air and water are mixtures, but they aren’t two separate substances that are chemically combined like salt and water or sand and water would be considered mixtures.
