Is My Hair Too Short For Extensions?

If you want to add length to your hair, and you’re not looking to make a huge commitment, then clip-in extensions are the way to go. They’re easy to put in and take out, and they won’t damage your own hair.

But if they’re too long, they’ll look fake and unnatural. If they’re too short, they’ll just fall right out.

The right length for your hair type depends on the type of extension product you get. Clip-ins are usually sold in lengths of 8 inches or less; if you have fine hair, this should be enough length to make them blend seamlessly with your natural tresses. If you have thick or coarse hair, however, you may need longer extensions — at least 9 inches.

We also recommend getting extensions that match your natural color as closely as possible — even if your hair is already dyed an unnatural color like red or blue! If the extensions are too light or dark for your natural shade, it will be much harder for people to believe that they came from your head!
