Rottweilers are often described as “gentle giants.” This is a breed that is very loyal and protective of its family. It’s also a breed that can be trained to be non-aggressive toward people, other dogs and other animals.
However, the Rottweiler does have one major drawback: It’s known for being an excellent guard dog. This means that if someone or something makes a sudden noise or moves in an unusual way, the Rottweiler may bark excessively as a precautionary measure.
So how much does a rottweiler bark? As with any dog, it depends on the individual animal. Some rottweilers bark more than others — but in general, they’re not considered excessive barkers.
The average rottweiler will only bark when necessary, such as when they hear a strange noise outside or feel threatened by another animal or person.
