It’s not weird at all. It’s very normal for a 16 year old to date someone that is 14 or 15.
The only thing that might be awkward is if you want to be more than friends with your girlfriend. If she doesn’t want to go out with you, then it will probably be awkward for you if you want to stay friends with her.
But if she does want to go out with you and wants to stay friends, then it shouldn’t be too awkward afterwards.
It’s also possible that your girlfriend doesn’t know how old you are and that she thinks you’re older than her (which would probably explain why she thinks its okay).
