You might be tempted to work out after dinner, but is that a good idea?
It’s a common question: Is it better to exercise in the morning or at night?
The answer isn’t simple, because there are pros and cons for both sides. But ultimately, you should probably exercise in the morning — if you want to lose weight.
When you exercise before eating, your body burns more fat than when it’s done after eating, according to research from the University of Bath in England.
That means if you exercise at night after dinner, you’ll be burning more carbs than fat — which can lead to weight gain if the body starts storing carbs as fat rather than using them as fuel.
