Battlefield 1 is a first-person shooter video game developed by EA DICE and published by Electronic Arts. It is the 15th installment in the Battlefield franchise and was released worldwide on October 21, 2016 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
Battlefield 1 is set during World War I against the backdrop of The Great War. Players can fight in battles ranging from infantry skirmishes to tank combat and air-to-air combat. The single-player campaign follows an American Doughboy as he experiences the conflict while fighting alongside many characters from other nations such as France, Britain and Germany.
The story mode is a series of missions that are played through different perspectives of different people involved in World War I, who have their own unique experience of war. Some missions will follow soldiers on the front lines while others will follow people behind the scenes like politicians or journalists.
The player will see these events through multiple perspectives including an American soldier named Henry Fleming who wants nothing more than to go home after being drafted into war against his will due to an injury he sustained during basic training; an English nurse named Dorothy “Dottie” Underwood who was determined to help save lives no matter what.
