Mosquito bites can be very irritating and painful. They are also a common occurrence during the summer months. In some cases, they can even cause serious problems like an allergic reaction. The best way to treat mosquito bites is to avoid them in the first place. However, if you do get bitten there are several things you can do to relieve the itching and swelling that often accompanies these annoying insects.

Home Remedies for Mosquito Bites on Eyelid

There are several easy home remedies for mosquito bites on eyelid that you can try to relieve discomfort and swelling. These include:

Applying ice or a cold compress to the affected area. This will help reduce swelling, pain and itching by constricting blood vessels in the area and reducing tissue temperature.

Using over-the-counter cortisone cream or antihistamine cream to reduce swelling and itching around the bite area. You should not apply these creams directly onto your skin because they could cause irritation; instead use them only after cleaning the affected area with soap and water then patting it dry before applying any medication over top of it. Make sure you do not use cortisone cream on broken skin as this may increase absorption into your body causing side effects such as headaches.
