Rooting is the process of gaining administrative rights or privileges on a device. It’s a way to hack into your Android phone or tablet and access system files that aren’t normally available. Rooting can be risky and void your warranty, but it also offers some pretty cool features.
If you want to root your device, here’s how to do it:
- Download the SuperSU Zip file from this page.
- Transfer the SuperSU Zip file onto your device’s storage, preferably in the root directory.
- Boot your device into recovery mode by turning it off then holding down Volume Down + Power button until you see the bootloader screen on your phone/tablet. Then press Volume Up button once to go into recovery mode (see image below).
- Use volume buttons to navigate up and down between options, while power button selects an option (see image above). Select “Install” option and select “Choose Zip from SD card” option depending on where you transferred the SuperSU zip file (see image below).
