Step 1: Cut out the ring blank. Cut two identical rings from your sheet of aluminum with your jeweler’s saw or a rotary tool and band saw, if you have one. Be sure to wear protective eye and ear equipment when cutting the metal, as well as gloves and safety glasses.
Step 2: File down the ring’s edges. Lightly file all four sides of each ring until they are smooth and even. Use a small hand file or sandpaper wrapped around a dowel rod for this step.
Step 3: Set your bezel into place. With your hammer, gently tap the bezel over one end of one ring until it is flush with the surface of the ring band. Then lay the bezel so that it covers about half of the inside diameter of the ring band, leaving room for the stone setting in Step 4.
Step 4: Set your stone into place on top of your bezel setting by placing it inside of the bezel and hammering it down until it sets securely over both sides of each ring band.
