Making a bear skin coat is not easy. It requires a lot of skill and patience to make a good one. The first thing that you need to do is get a bear hide from the animal. This can be done by killing the bear or by getting permission from someone who has killed it. You can also get the skin from a taxidermy shop or from someone who sells them online.
Once you have your skin, you will need to tan it so that it can be used for making clothes and other items like this. You can use any tanning method that you want but if you want to make sure that your coat lasts long then it is best to choose a method that uses vegetable tannins instead of chemicals like chromium sulfate or sodium chloride.
You can use natural vegetable tannins such as oak bark, hemlock bark, sumac berries, chestnut leaves and sumac berries in order to tan your bear skin coat but this takes time and patience because they need boiling in water prior to being applied onto the hide in order for them to work properly on it – which can take up to two weeks depending on how much tanning solution you’ve made as well as how big your hide.
