I’ve been doing a lot of reading lately, and I’m always on the lookout for new books that I think my readers might enjoy. One of the books I’ve come across is called Identify the Stars by David John Buerger.

The book is about a group of friends who’ve been through a lot together. They’ve been through high school together, they went to college together and they all have great jobs now. But they still feel like something’s missing from their lives, and they don’t know what it is.

One night they all decide to get together at the beach, where they used to hang out when they were kids. They decide that over the next few days, each person will take turns identifying three things that are important to them in life: something that gives them joy, something that gives them peace and something that gives them meaning (the three Js). Then at the end of their trip together, they’ll share their answers with each other and see if any of those things overlap between them.

The first part of Identify the Stars is all about how these friends get together at this beach house and talk about their lives up until now — where they met each other and how close they are.
