The Vertibird is a flying vehicle that is introduced in Fallout 4. It can only be found in the Commonwealth, and it’s not guaranteed to spawn on your first playthrough. However, there’s a way to see them more frequently.

To start, you’ll want to go to the Boston Airport. You can find this by going north of Goodneighbor, or west of Cambridge police station. The airport is located right next to a military checkpoint, so you’ll know you’re in the right place when you see it.

Once there, head into the airport terminal building and look for a staircase that leads down into an underground room. There will be several terminals here with blue screens on them – these are used by the Brotherhood of Steel as part of their operation at Boston Airport. Interacting with one will allow you to power up the Vertibird hanger outside as well as a nearby Brotherhood bunker located north of Bunker Hill (near Fort Independence).
