How To Cut A Bolt In A Tight Space ?

When cutting bolts and other metal fasteners, you can use a reciprocating saw or an angle grinder. The latter is better for removing the bolt head, but both will work if you know what you’re doing. For example, if you’re not comfortable with these tools yet, start with the reciprocating saw. It’s safer and easier to use than an angle grinder, but it takes longer to remove the nut or bolt head.

Step 1: Clamp down your workpiece firmly onto a workbench or sturdy table top using some clamps and C-clamps. This will keep it from moving around while cutting through it.

Step 2: Hold onto your angle grinder tightly with two hands so that you don’t accidentally drop it while cutting through your metal fastener (or whatever else). Start off by slowly rotating the wheel at low speed until sparks begin flying off of it — this will help prevent overheating of the wheel itself which could cause damage to your tool or injury to yourself if you were wearing gloves at this point).
