Feeders are the most common and popular pet bird toys. Feeder toys are designed to attract birds with bright colors, sounds and textures. Feeders can be hung from a cage or placed on the floor of a bird’s cage.
Feeders come in a variety of shapes and sizes. They can be made of wood, plastic or metal. The size of your bird will dictate the size of feeder you purchase. Bird seed is commonly packaged in small bags that can be attached to feeders for easy access by your bird(s).
A good rule of thumb is to use only as much seed as your bird can consume in a day or two, since it will spoil if left too long. It also helps to keep your bird occupied so that he doesn’t have time to think about chewing up anything else!
