How To Become A Professional Dominatrix?

It’s hard to imagine a career path that requires more confidence, self-esteem and bravado than that of a dominatrix. In a profession where you get paid to make other people feel small, you need to be pretty comfortable with yourself.

But as we learned in our recent interview with professional dominatrix Mistress Matisse (aka Dana DeArmond), it takes much more than just confidence to become a successful pro domme. You have to be willing to put the time into learning your craft and continuing your education throughout your career. And you have to be able to handle the emotional demands of the job — not just for yourself but for your clients as well.

Here’s what she had to say about how she got started in the business:

“The first time I ever stepped foot inside a dungeon was when I was 18 years old,” she said. “I was at an event in Los Angeles called Folsom Street Fair, which is an annual leather fair that happens in San Francisco every year.”
