Mechagodzilla is a fictional character and the main antagonist of the Godzilla franchise. He made his debut in the 1973 film Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla, as an evil counterpart to Godzilla that was created by Japan’s Space Hunter Nebula M aliens to destroy Earth’s monsters. The character also appeared in the 1993 film Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II and its 1995 direct sequel Godzilla vs. Space Godzilla, as well as in several video games and comic books.
Mechagodzilla is a large robotic version of Godzilla, controlled by alien forces to destroy humanity and conquer the world. As his name suggests, Mechagodzilla is a mechanical version of Godzilla himself, with many similarities between them including skin coloration and overall body shape (although Mechagodzilla is bulkier).
However, unlike his organic counterpart, Mechagodzilla does not possess any internal organs or biological components; he is entirely mechanical in nature with no organic parts whatsoever.
In addition to its size advantage over Godzilla, Mechagodzilla has been shown to be equipped with energy weapons such as lasers fired from its eyes and chest beam cannons on each shoulder; it also possesses incredible durability thanks to its armored exterior plating which renders attacks from other kaiju ineffective against it.
