Alfred Pennyworth is Bruce Wayne’s butler and trusted friend. He has been in service to the Wayne family since Thomas and Martha were murdered, and he has helped raise Bruce. Alfred is one of the most important characters in Batman’s life, as he has helped him through his most difficult times.
While Alfred’s exact age is never revealed in any comic book or movie, it’s safe to assume that he’s at least in his 60s if not older. Alfred was born sometime before 1940 and was working at Wayne Manor before Bruce was born in 1966. Alfred is also British, so he may be even older than his late 60s or early 70s.
In the comics, Alfred often helps Bruce out by getting rid of bad guys who are bothering him or by giving him advice on how to live his life as Batman. The Batcave was created by Alfred because it would provide a safe place for Bruce to store his gadgets and vehicles that he uses as Batman.
Alfred also knows how to fix almost anything including cars, computers and machines like elevators or helicopters. He has saved Bruce many times when someone tries to kill him or destroy Gotham City by using some kind of machine like an elevator or helicopter.
