How Much Does On Campus Jobs Pay?

How much do on-campus jobs pay? The answer is different for each student and each job.

There are many factors that determine the salary of a college student working at a campus job. These include:

The type of position you hold. Some positions pay more than others. For example, you might make more money working in the library than working as a barista at the coffee shop on campus.

Your experience level in that position. If you’re just starting out, you will likely earn less than someone who has been there longer or even someone with less experience who has been promoted to a higher position within the same company.

Your grade level and major. Your grade point average can affect your paycheck as well as whether or not an employer decides to hire you in the first place! Your major can also have an impact on what kind of job opportunities are available to you — some majors offer more lucrative employment options than others (see below).

Your location — both where you live and where the company is located — can affect how much money you earn at your on-campus job as well as how flexible your schedule is for schoolwork or other activities (such as going out with friends).
