The average solar salesman makes between $30,000 and $50,000 per year.
This is a relatively small amount of money, particularly when you consider that a solar salesman has to be on the road quite a bit. However, there are some advantages to being a solar salesman.
Solar Salesmen Make More Than Other Salesmen
A typical salesman in the United States makes about $40,000 per year. This means that even if you just sell solar panels for a living, you will make more than an average salesman does. A lot of people want to be in sales because they like the idea of making lots of money by selling expensive products, but it doesn’t always work out like that.
Solar Salesmen Don’t Need A College Degree (Or Even A High School Diploma)
Most salesmen need at least some kind of college degree and usually have to pass exams before they can get their license from the state government. However, it is possible to become a successful solar salesman without any formal education at all — although this can be difficult if you want to get into the more lucrative parts of the industry such as installation or repair work (see below).
