The UFC 235 co-main event is an interesting one. It features two of the most popular fighters in the sport — Dustin Poirier and Nate Diaz.
The two are set to square off for the 155-pound title, but the fight hasn’t been officially announced yet. That will happen when both men make weight on Friday morning.
But what if they don’t make weight? Would they just split a portion of the purse? Or would they have to fight one another in a catchweight bout?
According to UFC president Dana White, it will be the latter. If either fighter fails to hit 155 pounds by Friday’s deadline, then he will miss out on a shot at UFC gold and instead take on another opponent on Saturday night as part of the main card at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
