The reset button is usually located on the back of the dryer. In some cases, it’s hidden behind a panel.
Before you do anything else, turn off the power to the dryer at the circuit breaker or fuse box. After you’ve turned off the power, remove any wires or plugs that are connected to the dryer. Use a screwdriver to remove any screws that hold the back panel in place and slide it out from under its retaining clips, if necessary.
Once you’ve removed the back panel and exposed your dryer’s wiring, locate the reset button. It should be marked with an “O” or an “R” (for “reset”). If there’s no mark on it at all, it may look like a small square switch with two wires connected to it.
Press and hold down this switch for five seconds with your finger or use an insulated screwdriver to push it in until it clicks once — then release it and wait 30 seconds before plugging your dryer back in and turning it on again.
