How many bricks does it take to build an average house?
The number of bricks required to build a house will depend on how large it is, and how well built you want it to be.
There are a number of factors that add up to the total amount of bricks required to build a home. The size of the house itself obviously makes a difference, but so does the quality and type of brick used.
For example, if you are building an average sized house with a cavity wall construction, then you will need around 35-40 tonnes (40-45 tons) of bricks per 1,000 square feet (or square meter). However, if you are building with solid walls, then the figure increases dramatically to around 100 tonnes (111 tons) per 1,000 square feet (or square meter).
