There are 3 ways to measure distance:

1. Miles – this is the most common way of measuring distance in the United States. It’s also the standard measurement for roads and highways.
2. Kilometers – this is the official way to measure distance in most countries outside of the US, including Canada and Mexico. You’ll notice that a lot of European cars have kilometers on their speedometer instead of miles per hour.
3. Miles per hour (mph) – this is not used as much as miles or kilometers, but it’s still used by some people in some places (like Alaska).
