The average life span of a wasp is about two months. However, there are many factors that can determine how long a wasp will live. The most important factor is the food supply. If there is enough food for the colony to survive until winter, then the queen will not die until late winter or early spring.
In addition to food availability, temperature plays an important role in how long a wasp can live indoors. In warm climates, wasps generally live longer than in cooler climates because they do not need to hibernate and can spend more time collecting food for the colony.
In colder climates, wasps have a shorter life span because they need to find shelter before snow begins to fall and their body temperature drops too low for them to survive winter conditions outside.
