According to Kotaku’s sources, Sony has been working on its next-generation console for some time. The PlayStation 5 is rumored to be launching by 2020.

The site reports that development of the new console started before even the release of the PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro, which suggests that the system could launch as soon as 2021 or 2022, if not earlier.
