Anthropology, the study of humankind, is a social science that looks at human beings in all their diversity and complexity. It is concerned with how humans think and act, as well as how they adapt to their environment.
Anthropology differs from other disciplines in that it tends to focus on people who are not like us: those whose culture differs from our own or those who live in different environments. Anthropologists are interested in the way people around the world think about life and the world around them.
Anthropologists share an interest in understanding human behavior and culture. However, because of their training and experience, anthropologists often look at these questions from different perspectives than other social scientists do.
