How does weather affect exercise?

The weather affects your exercise routine in many ways. Some of the most common are:

The temperature. When it’s too hot or too cold, you’re less likely to want to go for a walk or run outside. You might also have difficulty breathing if the air is too humid or if there’s no wind.

The humidity level. If it’s too dry, your skin may become chapped and cracked, and your body can dehydrate more easily. If it’s too humid, you’ll sweat more and feel like you’re working harder — even though you aren’t actually getting any more exercise done than usual.

The wind speed and direction. A light breeze can help keep you cool while working out in the summertime, but a strong wind can make it difficult to run outdoors without veering off course or having to pull your hat down over your eyes to protect them from blowing sand or dirt particles in your face.
