You may think that if your iPhone just won’t turn on, it’s dead. But in fact, there are many reasons why your iPhone might not be working.
Here are a few possible causes for an unresponsive iPhone and some ways to fix them.
Your battery is dead
If your iPhone won’t turn on and you’ve tried charging it with a different cable or charger, the problem may be that the battery is completely drained. In this case, plug your phone into its charger for at least 5 minutes before trying to turn it back on again.
If that doesn’t work, try these steps:
Plug the charger into an electrical outlet and then plug the USB end of the charging cable into your computer (not just any USB port on your computer). If your computer has multiple USB ports, make sure you’re using the one labeled “on.”
Make sure that both ends of the charging cord are plugged securely into their respective ports. If you’re using a third-party accessory instead of Apple’s charger or cable, check to make sure all parts are compatible with each other and compatible with your device model.
